Full Tilt rings the changes in casual player move
Managing director Dominic Mansour outlines plans to "rebalance" poker ecosystem with changes to rewards program, rake and ring game lobby to be implemented by August
Full Tilt managing director Dominic Mansour (pictured) has outlined a raft of changes to the operator’s poker offering as it looks to “rebalance” its poker ecosystem by attracting more casual players.
Mansour said Full Tilt was “reinventing” its rewards program so that it is “genuinely attractive” to all players, and was also restructuring its rake system and updating its ring game lobby.
“There’s no right time or wrong time to rebalance the ecosystem. If it needs rebalancing, then that’s what we need to do to fix the experience for recreational poker players,” Mansour told eGaming Review.
“We have a big pipeline of changes for many more months yet, but the most significant ones will be complete by August,” he added.
Mansour said the as yet to be revealed ring game changes would make play easy and accessible and were designed to “level the playing field” for players of all poker skill levels, whether on mobile, tablet, or desktop.
The rake changes will involve increasing contributions at micro stakes (up to $0.05/$0.10) and increasing the rake cap at higher stakes ($5/$10 and $10/$20).
“We are increasing rake as a method to assist in funding the changes we are making, which will drive more loyalty benefits to recreational players,” Mansour said.
News of the changes at Full Tilt come after Rational Group stablemate PokerStars said it was to curb the use of third-party software used by players to help make decision during a game.
