Gala hires new bingo head
Industry newcomer Victoria Reed appointed to lead the Playtech-powered Gala Bingo brand

Gala Coral has appointed marketing specialist Victoria Reed as head of Gala Bingo, eGaming Review has learned.
Reed, who joined the firm earlier this month, will be based out of Gala Coral’s Gibraltar offices and report directly into Gala brand director Alison Digges.
The new recruit has been tasked with leading Gala’s online bingo operations and broadly assumes the responsibilities vacated by Digges following her promotion from bingo director in August.
Reed takes on a growing bingo business which last year achieved an 18% increase in gross profit and a 25% hike in stakes, against what has broadly been a flat industry-wide market.
The Gala Bingo role represents Reed’s first within the gaming industry having previously held brand and digital marketing positions with the likes of News UK, Aimia loyalty card subsidiary Nectar, and Trinity Mirror.
Last year, Gala Coral announced it was to merge its Gala Interactive and Coral Interactive businesses in order to align its online operations with its retail business and improve its multi-channel offer.
In November, Gala awarded its £5.7m media planning and buying account to London-based agency the7stars, a firm which also runs Coral’s media activities.
The online bingo sector has been shaken-up in recent weeks following news that Canadian gaming firm Intertain has agreed to buy market leading bingo brand Jackpotjoy from Gamesys in a wider £425m deal.
