Gambling Commission inks lottery integrity partnership
UKGC and GLMS extend informal partnership to include information exchange on suspicious betting

The Gambling Commission (UKGC) has announced the formalisation of its existing partnership with the Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS) by signing a memorandum of understanding.
Under the MOI, both entities agree to exchange sports betting information on suspicious betting to safeguard the interests of British consumers. An informal partnership has been in place between the two organisations for some time, but this agreement formalises that arrangement.
Richard Watson, UKGC executive director of enforcement and intelligence said the UKGC is “pleased to be signing this MOU, GLMS have shown they have considerable experience in monitoring betting data and access to information from Lotteries all over the world.
“This will help continue to build our sources of information to tackle the issue of betting integrity and prevent match-fixing.”
GLMS is a lotteries’ association, created jointly by the World Lottery Association and the European Lotteries Association in 2015, comprising over 30 Lotteries from 28 countries.
The association counts Veikkaus, Français Des Jeux, Danske Spil, Svenska Spel, Norsk Tipping and Lottomatica among its membership.
GLMS president, Ludovico Calvi added: “We are very excited to formalise our partnership with one of the most responsible and active regulatory authorities in the world.
“I am convinced that this partnership will further enhance our mutual efforts to address the phenomenon of sport competition manipulations globally and effectively.”
