Gaming Innovation Group hires Stuart Weston as sportsbook director
Weston joins Malta-headquartered firm after 10-month stint at SG Digital in Gibraltar

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has hired former William Hill director Stuart Weston as its new sportsbook director, EGR can reveal.
Weston is based out of the firm’s Marbella office and charged with leading GiG’s sports vertical across B2B and B2C.
Weston officially took up the director role in July after 10 months as VP of sportsbook operations for SG Digital in Gibraltar.
Before that he was MD of Superbet Gibraltar for 14 months, after a 19 year-career at William Hill.
“I joined GiG because it’s a great opportunity to be part of a young, progressive company as it continues to invest in its Sports platform,” Weston told EGR.
“As GiG also has B2C brands it’s a rare chance to build a business and a platform at the same time. I’m looking forward to generating direct revenues while supporting our B2B partners and continually improving our product.”

GiG’s sports division had revenues of €0.3m in Q2 2019, compared to €19.6m for casino, with an adjusted EBITDA of -€1.8m.
The group’s financial report noted: “The company is focused on adapting the product to the US marketplace, whilst improving the capability for EU operations in order to improve B2C Sports NGR and to grow the B2B pipeline.”
GiG currently supplies its sportsbook (and wider platform) to the Hard Rock in New Jersey.
Its B2C sportsbooks in Sweden remain suspended amid ongoing regulatory uncertainty, although the firm continues to provide the product to B2B partners and as a B2C offering in other markets.
GiG also hired Chris Armes away from SG Digital in July to act as its chief information officer and develop the firm’s technology strategy.
The company last week announced a change of CEO after a run of poor financial performance.
