Mobile and social gaming venture from Cashcade founders begins trading on AIM
Gaming Realms has commenced trading on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) having completed the £12m reverse takeover of technology firm Pursuit Dynamics.
The listing was announced last month, subject to the Pursuit Dynamics general meeting which took place yesterday. The company received its change of name certificate and began trading under its new name this morning at 8am, raising £3.4m through the sale of new shares.
The venture, established by Cashcade founders Patrick Southon, Simon Collins and Michael Buckley, incorporates social gaming operator BeJig and HTML5-focused mobile gaming company AlchemyBet.
Southon and Collins established egaming venture capital fund New Game Capital after leaving bwin.party in 2011 before investing in BeJig and its Avatingo bingo application later that year. AlchemyBet became New Game Capital’s second investment in June last year.
BeJig, founded in July 2011 by Tom Gooding, David Hampstead and Simon Smiley, launched an online version of the fast-paced card game Sh*thead in April and also has the Facebook slots offering 5 Star Slots, which currently has more than 100,000 active users per month.
AlchemyBet was founded by James Harrison in 2011 before launching its mobile casino product PocketFruity.com with a television ad campaign on ITV in April 2012.
