Genesis Global returns to UK market as Gambling Commission lifts licence suspension
Online casino operator back in business after two and a half month absence as review into compliance practices continues

The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has called time on the licence suspension of Genesis Global after ruling its UK business operations are fit to resume.
The suspension was officially lifted on 14 October, after an absence of more than two months from the market for the Malta-based operator, with their sites now accessible to UK players once again.
“We are pleased to announce that the suspension of our UKGC licence has been lifted as a result of the intensive work and huge dedication our business has demonstrated in the last few months,” Genesis Global CEO Ariel Reem said.
“This is clear testament to our commitment to both UK regulations and to our customers.
“We are also hugely thankful to our staff for their dedication and trust, and to our suppliers who have assisted in rectifying a difficult situation which arose during unusual economic circumstances for the whole world,” Reem added.
The UKGC confirmed the reinstatement in a post on its website: “The operator can now offer gambling services to consumers in Great Britain. As a result of assurance provided by the operator the suspension has been lifted.
“The review into Genesis Global Limited’s licence continues,” the UKGC added.
In July, the UKGC confirmed it had identified a number of compliance issues with Genesis Global, suspending its licence and ordering the temporary closure of 12 sites pending a full review.
As part of the suspension, the UKGC encouraged UK customers to withdraw funds from these sites prompting an appeal by the operator.
The operator previously expressed an “extreme level” of disappointment with the suspension, claiming the UKGC had acted in a disproportionate way.
Genesis Global becomes the second operator to have its licence reinstated in the space of two months, joining exchange specialist Matchbook.
Genesis Global Limited operates 12 UK-facing brands including genesiscasino, casinoplanet, slotty and vegashero.com. The firm is licensed for sports betting and online casino in the UK but also has licences in Sweden and Malta.
