Genius Sports inks integrity partnership with German FA
More than 7,000 German football matches will be monitored for suspicious betting from 2019/2020 season

Sports betting data firm Genius Sports has been selected by the German Football Association (DFB) to develop a new integrity programme for German football matches.
From the start of the 2019-2020 football season, Genius Sports’ Bet Monitoring System will monitor all Bundesliga matches within Germany’s top two divisions, together with German internationals, women’s fixtures and youth team matches.
A total of 7,500 games a year will be monitored, with the Bet Monitoring System automatically flagging potentially suspicious betting activity in real-time.
Hendrik Große Lefert, DFB integrity officer, highlighted the new partnership as an opportunity for the DFB to “gain new impetus in preventing betting-related corruption”.

Bayern Munich lifted their seventh consecutive Bundesliga title earlier this year
Genius Sports currently operates integrity partnerships with the English Premier League, Football Data Co, golf’s PGA Tour and Euroleague Basketball.
The company also has sporting partnerships with La Liga and supranational body European Leagues, which represents 36 professional football leagues representing more than 950 clubs in 29 countries, across Europe.
Steven Burton, MD at Genius Sports, said it was a “huge honour” to be working with one of the world’s biggest football associations in the area of integrity monitoring.
“Our monitoring technology, expertise in analysing real-time betting and global intelligence network will provide comprehensive protection for the DFB, ensuring their games remain transparent and unpredictable,” Burton added.
