Genting Alderney launches online sportsbook
Gentingbet.com brand is first customer to go live with FSB's managed sports betting service
Genting Alderney has entered the UK sports betting market for the first time following the launch of its sportsbook site in conjunction with platform provider FSB Technology.
GentingBet was soft launched in October with both a desktop and a mobile version using FSB Tech’s managed sports betting solution.
The branded sportsbook is fully integrated into Genting Alderney’s new online platform and will allow it to converge its digital offering with its retail presence of 44 UK casinos.
“With the launch of Gentingbet.com, our customers have the ability to keep all their casino, poker and sports betting activity “ both online and offline “ under the Genting brand further enhancing our brand presence in the UK,” Peter Nolan, managing director of Genting Alderney (pictured), said.
Last year Genting Alderney made its first foray into the sportsbook market when it launched an online sports betting service on behalf of its sister company Resorts World Bimini, a cruise liner and casino which sails in The Bahamas.
The agreement saw Genting operate a physical sportsbook facility on board the 32,000-tonne cruise liner described as a “destination resort”, and an online offering which customers could access on their mobile and tablet devices.
The launch is the first on FSB Tech’s platform since its third and latest funding round was completed earlier this month.
Sportingbet founder Mark Blandford led financing which comprised 14 other investors, while previous investors have included Betfair co-founder Andrew Black, current Ladbrokes chief executive Richard Glynn and GameAccount Network chairman David O’Reilly.
“It is both a fantastic opportunity and an amazing endorsement for us to work with such a well-established operator and to be selected as their sports betting partner. We look forward to helping deliver the best possible betting product to both their online and retail customer base,” added David McDowell, chief executive at FSB Tech.
