GiG makes Macedonia market entry with LeGrand Casino deal
Malta-based B2B supplier assists Macedonian casino operator ahead of Q1 2021 online launch

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has inked an agreement with Macedonian casino operator K.A.K DOO Skopje (KAK) to power its forthcoming online launch.
The scope of the initial agreement includes the provision of GiG’s online platform, front-end development and managed media services. The group is targeting digital launch in Q1 2021.
The final agreement is expected to be signed in August 2020 on a combined fixed fee and revenue share basis.
The partnership is expected to make a positive contribution to GiG’s revenues from 2021 onwards.
K.A.K. operates two casinos offering both slots and table games, LeGrand Casino Skopje and LeGrand Casino Bitola, along with four hotels (Hotel Epinal in Bitola and hotels Sport, Bistra and Lodge in Mavrovo) and the Mavrovo Ski Resort.
K.A.K DOO Skopje CEO Ognjan Cigovski welcomed the agreement, citing GiG’s positive history of working with land-based casino operators to expand their operations.
“We are pleased to have them supporting our digital transformation and online player acquisition strategy as we expand into the newly regulating online market,” said Cigovski.
“We believe that by joining our efforts we can translate the feel and look of our LeGrand casinos into an online offering that both caters for our current players as well as attracts new ones.
“We are looking forward to a long lasting and mutually beneficial partnership,” he concluded.
The deal follows the Macedonian government’s decision to allow land-based casino operators to apply for online licences on the condition that online platforms directly reflect the scope of offline operations.
In a June interview with EGR, GiG CEO Richard Brown said the supplier was “looking at a lot of growth potential in emerging markets in countries that are starting to transition online”.
GiG already has a significant footprint in the Balkans. The firm owns a 75% stake in Croatian gaming company Top Games, which is currently readying its own digital launch.
