GigaMedia president and COO resigns
Thomas Hui had been with the Everest Poker part-owner since 2004 and held the company presidency since 2007.

GigaMedia president and COO Thomas Hui has resigned and will leave the Everest Poker part-owner at the end of this year.
The former investment banker joined the software provider from Goldman Sachs in 2004, beginning as chief financial officer before taking the dual role of president and chief operating officer three years later.
According to a statement from the company this morning, he “Intends to devote more time to his personal interests and to charitable projects”.
Chief executive Yichin Lee spoke of Hui’s “enormous influence on GigaMedia, making strong contributions to the strategy and growth of GigaMedia for three quarters of a decade”.
GigaMedia sold 60% of Everest Poker to Betclic Everest “ then known as Mangas Gaming “ in May 2010.
It was recently warned that it could be delisted from the Nasdaq if its failure to comply with the exchange’s minimum bid price rule continued.
