GVC furthers RG strategy with harm minimisation partnership
London-listed operator aims to have “industry-leading” approach to responsible gambling training

GVC Holdings has signed a multi-year responsible gambling (RG) strategy agreement with independent gambling harm minimisation consultancy EPIC Risk Management.
As part of the agreement, EPIC will provide GVC with strategic advice on its RG strategy, focusing particularly on developing the best approach when interacting with problem gamblers. The agreement also allows for the training of GVC employees in these areas.
EPIC will provide services including a review of key problem gambling cases, the development of new problem gambling policies and the provision of executive support and education.
The move is part of GVC’s so-called “Fair Play” corporate social responsibility strategy, unveiled earlier this year, which focuses on RG, helping GVC to become a responsible employer and making a positive social impact in the communities in which it operates.
Grainne Hurst, GVC’s director of responsible gambling, welcomed the agreement, adding that it will help GVC to deliver “an industry leading approach to all aspects of responsible gambling”.
In addition, EPIC will also work with GVC to deliver RG workshops in high-risk areas, working with problem gambling charities. EPIC will also work with GVC to provide a gambling awareness and education programme for schoolchildren in over 100 schools across the UK.
Paul Buck, CEO of EPIC risk management, added: “We welcome the opportunity to work with GVC as they aspire to improve standards around responsible gambling and provide a safer environment for their customers and their employees.”
