
GVC tests appetite for bwin casino with new ad campaign
Operator rolls out new ad in Spain, Italy, Greece and Belgium to push bwin casino as “a standalone vertical”


GVC’s bwin brand has launched the latest iteration of its Live The Action marketing campaign to boost exposure for its bwin casino product.
Head of acquisition for casino at GVC, Alessandro De Stasio, told EGR Intel the firm was pushing bwin casino as a standalone vertical for the first time since reshuffling the group’s management in April.
“Bwin as a brand never really explored casino as an acquisition product, it’s always been a sports betting site [foremost],” De Stasio said.
The video, which features a similar live action theme to the operator’s recent The Race and Who Stole the Cup? Ads, is targeting players in Spain, Greece Italy and Belgium, as these are the “most promising markets for bwin”, De Stasio said.
“Bwin’s brand is growing really fast in Greece, Italy, Spain and Belgium and that’s why we want to increase momentum there.”
The campaign was rolled out across a number of digital channels on 1 August, including Facebook and YouTube.
De Stasio told EGR the campaign would not be featured on television due to seasonality and users in Mediterranean countries would be less likely to see the campaign.
