HooYu rolls out new KYC service for German gambling market
Five features make up the provider’s German-specific solution including facial biometrics and politically exposed watchlist screening

Know your customer (KYC) provider HooYu has unveiled a new KYC solution for the increasingly complex German gambling market.
This new development builds upon HooYu being granted approval by German age verification regulator KJM earlier this year.
The provider has now added several new services to help gambling firms comply with the country’s AML regulations.
HooYu arranges identity checks that have been created by Schufa, Germany’s foremost information and service partner to many industries, which was first established back in 1927.
Overall, the new service includes Schufa identity data checks, KJM-approved facial biometrics and ID document validation, video verification with a live human agent and politically exposed person and sanctions watchlist screening, as well as payment card checks.
The five services on offer can be delivered in accordance to the different journeys that a customer might face, such as sign-up, high-value deposit, fraud risk and pay-out.
Operators are additionally able to confirm customer names, addresses and dates of birth and can check for fraudsters using the identity of deceased people or uncover linked addresses, when connecting to the Schufa database check.
The video ID service is a new offering that complies with the regulations of BaFin, the German anti-money laundering authority.
David Pope, marketing director at HooYu, said: “HooYu is a KYC orchestration and customer onboarding platform that not only helps operators to build KYC processes, but also to maximise customer onboarding success rates.
“German operators can now use one HooYu API to call on any or all of these services as part of their age verification, fraud or anti-money laundering controls,” he added.
