Rotem also spent five years with 888, originally as head of technology from June 2002 to December 2005 before assuming the role of director for tech, business production and administration from January 2006 through to May 2007.
Rotem will report into IGT CEO Digital & Betting CEO Enrico Drago and will be responsible for overseeing the development and global expansion of the IGT PlayCasino business.
The IGT PlayCasino business includes the supplier’s igaming, poker and bingo solutions.
Speaking on his arrival, Rotem said: “It’s a tremendous opportunity to join Enrico Drago in leading the IGT PlayCasino team and representing the gaming industry’s most exciting portfolio of igaming, poker and bingo content.
“I look forward to helping propel future growth with IGT PlayCasino as IGT demonstrates the value and promise of its newly established Digital & Betting segment to customers and shareholders,” he added.
Drago commented: “We expect continued double-digit growth from IGT PlayCasino, and Gil Rotem’s vision and experience can help us remain well-positioned for continued leadership in igaming, poker and bingo.”
