Interwetten CEO Werner Becher steps down
Becher tells EGR he feels the “desire for change” as he prepares to leave the company by the end of the year

Interwetten CEO Werner Becher is to leave the company at the end of 2018 after more than seven years at the Malta-licensed operator.
Becher has been CEO of the Germany-facing operator since 2011 but told employees yesterday that he intended to step down from his role by the end of the year.
EGR understands Interwetten has yet to appoint a replacement but is currently in discussions with candidates and is expected to announce a successor in the next few weeks.
“In the last months I felt more and more the desire for change – for me personally but also as chance for Interwetten for new impulses,” Becher told EGR Intel.
He added: “The next Interwetten CEO will be able build up his strategy on sustainable strong growth rates based on high profitability.
“I’m looking forward to ramping up a new challenge in 2019, although I‘ve not even started to think about that yet, and I’d like to thank everyone at Interwetten for the trust, fun, energy and support provided on this particular journey.”
Interwetten came 46th in EGR’s Power 50 2017, and according to figures provided for this year’s rankings, the operator’s net gaming revenue increased 14% year-on-year to €65.6m for the 12 months ended 30 June 2018.
The latest Power 50 rankings are due to be released next week.
