Interwetten goes live in Sweden
Malta-licensed firm aims to expand addressable audience by seven million ahead of upcoming re-regulation

Interwetten has gone live in Sweden ahead of the re-regulation of the country’s online gaming market, the firm announced today.
The Swedish version of Interwetten.com went live on Friday, featuring sports betting, casino and live casino products.
The Malta-licensed firm said the launch would expand its addressable market by around seven million.
“The start of our commercialisation in Sweden is an important impulse for the future growth of Interwetten and is clearly increasing our reach,” said Werner Becher, speaker of the board of Interwetten.
“We are delighted in offering our products to the Swedish market and meeting the desire of the Swedes for premium entertainment.
“Common values and the upcoming regulation of online gaming by the Swedish government will turn Sweden into a distinguished marketplace for Interwetten.”
The operator will back its launch with two new TV adverts, with Sweden becoming Interwettens’s sixth core market after Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Greece.
The firm suffered a sluggish set of H1 results, with GGR up 3% to €33.m, and EBITDA flat at €6.6m.
