Ladbrokes recruits Mark Wahlberg for Aussie marketing push
Hollywood star fronts explosive TV ad for Entain-owned bookmaker Down Under

Ladbrokes has enlisted the help of Hollywood heavyweight Mark Wahlberg for its new marketing campaign in Australia.
The 49-year-old is fronting a new short for the Entain-owned betting company, where he dons a white suit and sunglasses while sitting on a golf buggy.
A huge explosion occurs in the background as Wahlberg laughs while holding up a smartphone adorned with the phrase “Ladbroke it!”.
The ad was filmed while the US actor was in Australia in December 2020 after he spent two weeks of mandatory quarantine in Byron Bay.
The campaign, in which Wahlberg plays Ladbrokes’ new chief entertainment officer Mike Iceberg, took five days to film.
Entain has a long history of hiring Hollywood actors to front its branded TV adverts.
In 2019, Ladbrokes sister brand Coral recorded a six-part series with Pineapple Express and Sausage Party star Danny McBride.
In the US, Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx and star of films including Django Unchained, Ray and Baby Driver, is the face of Entain’s BetMGM joint venture with MGM Resorts.
