William Hill and Chelsea FC have announced the launch of a new Employment and Small Business Accountancy programme at Stamford Bridge to help improve social mobility in local communities.
The project will see William Hill staff deliver a number of workshops for people with small businesses to develop their understanding of finance literacy as part of their AAT accountancy course at Stamford Bridge.
They will also be working with the Chelsea Foundation’s education department to offer employment support to local unemployed adults with additional work experience and a guaranteed interview.
“We’re delighted to have officially launched our partnership with the Chelsea FC Foundation through our joint Small Business Accountancy Course,” said William Hill community affairs co-ordinator, Ollie Blackwell.
“It was an engaging and enjoyable session with the students and we’re looking forward to working further with the Foundation to continue our company commitment of providing skills and opportunity in our local communities.”
Ladbrokes extends Scottish football sponsorship
Ladbrokes has extended its sponsorship of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPLF) for another year, the firm announced last week.
The deal, which is believed to have cost around £2m, comes as its initial two-year deal, signed in 2015, runs out at the end of the current campaign.
Ladbrokes Coral CEO Jim Mullen said the headline sponsorship, which sees the top division named the ‘Ladbrokes Premiership’, had been “hugely rewarding”.
“When we announced our sponsorship in 2015 we made a clear commitment to invest in the very heart of Scottish football,” Mullen said.

LeoVegas to launch live Twitch slots betting event
LeoVegas is launching a live betting event based on the spin outcomes of a live streamed slot game.
The operator has teamed up with games developer Big Time Gaming (BTG) and rising internet streamer LetsGiveItASpin, which is run by poker and slots player Kim Hultman, to offer the innovative betting product.
Punters will be able to wager on the outcome of 500 spins of new BTG game ‘Danger High Voltage’ – based on the 2003 hit song by Electric 6 – when it is streamed live on 10 May.
However, the game itself will be exclusively live with LeoVegas tomorrow, via the NYX network, enabling customers to familiarise themselves with the game ahead of the live betting event.
STS buys up third of Betsys owner Greep
STS has taken a 50% stake in Greep, the owner of leading Central European software supplier Betsys, after investing into the company.
The Polish operator said it had decided to take part-ownership of the Czech-based supplier in order to gain “greater independence” – Betsys currently supplies the likes of STS and Czech operator Sazka with retail and online betting and gaming solutions.
“Only the best European companies from our field may pride themselves on having their own bookmaker system,” Mateusz Juroszek, the President of STS, said.
“This is successive competitive advantage of STS that outdistances us with regard to remaining operators in Poland – already, we have been the unchallenged leader of Polish market.

It is currently only available in the operator’s offline outlets but will be rolled out across Totolotek’s online platform in the near future.
