Gamesys opens Canadian office as poker launch nears
Operator recruiting for poker expertise in preparation of real-money launch under Virgin brand
Gamesys is developing its first online poker product and has opened a Canada-based subsidiary to aid the launch.
Located in Edmonton in the province of Alberta, Gamesys Canada is currently recruiting individuals to work on its “revolutionary” Java-based online poker platform which it says is “nearing completion”.
The UK operator is thought to be developing a free-to-play social product to be launched alongside a real-money variant under its Virgin Games brand.
Exclusive: Boylesports begins UK push with London office launch
Irish operator Boylesports has recruited ex-Sportingbet head of marketing James Arnold to manage a soon-to-be opened office in London as part of its plans for growth in the UK online gambling market.
Led by the newly-appointed CMO Arnold, the team based in Bayswater in west London will act as a “strategic digital marketing hub” for the Dundalk-based bookmaker. The office will officially open on 1 July with six employees initially on board.

Caesars launches freeplay Nevada poker site
Caesars Interactive Entertainment has moved a step closer to launching real-money poker in Nevada by allowing players to download its WSOP.com client and sign up for freeplay games.
Last week’s launch, which was timed to coincide with the start of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, is expected to be followed by a real-money launch by the end of the summer on the same platform.
Playtech adds slots to mobile bingo offering
Playtech has launched eight new slot titles for its mobile bingo offering, the London-listed software provider announced.
The slots will be embedded on its mobile bingo site, which is integrated with the Virtue Fusion web-based platform, with the games also available in full-screen mode through Playtech’s native apps and on its HTML5-optimised Mobile Hub product.
Betsson in IGT slots deal
Betsson is set to introduce slots content from International Game Technology (IGT) across a number of its mobile and desktop sites.
The Malta-licensed operator will take on a number of titles via an integration of IGT’s remote game server, including Da Vinci Diamonds and Cleopatra. The slots will initially be rolled out on CasinoEuro.com before being added to Betsson’s other brands over the coming months.
Betfred to launch new affiliate programme with Active Win
UK bookmaker Betfred is poised to launch a new online affiliate programme supplied by digital marketing agency Active Win Media.
As well as the Betfred brand the programme, named ActiveWins, will incorporate the Totepool.com sportsbook and online bingo website Bucky Bingo brands, combining each site’s affiliate programme into a single offering.
Paf goes live on MPN
Paf has launched an online poker offering on Microgaming’s MPN, the à land-based operator has announced.
The offering, branded as ‘Heart Poker’, follows an agreement with the Isle of Man-based software provider signed last October.
Topjack enters Asian market through deal
Software firm Topjack Games has made its first move into the Asian market through a deal with Macao-based service provider Market Dimension.
Inspired Gaming to deliver virtual sports to Gamenet
Italian operator Gamenet has penned a deal with Inspired Gaming Group to integrate the supplier’s portfolio of virtual sports products onto its online and mobile platforms.
Karma Gaming, the casual games developer, has announced a $4m round of financing led by Rho Canada Ventures and Innovacorp. Jeff Grammer, partner at Rho Canada Ventures, and Thomas Rankin, investment director at Innovacorp, will join the Board of Directors. “This funding will enable us to scale our production output, meet our customer demands and license our games all over the world,” Paul LeBlanc, co-founder and CEO of Karma Gaming said.
Williams Interactive has been officially approved by the Delaware State Lottery as a provider of online gambling content. The online division of WMS was selected – alongside 888 and Scientific Games – to provide egaming services for the US state.
Malta-licensed operator Mr Green has gone live with slot games from Bally Interactive. The online release is set to be followed by a mobile slot supply deal in the near future. Bally Interactive general manager and managing director Michael Probert said the deal represents “A significant moment for Bally Technologies in the online market”.
Olympian Goup has launched egaming management service ‘Betsystems’, which it describes as “The App Store of online casino management.” The modular system is designed to work across poker, casino and sportsbook.”We wanted something that would allow us to do all things we wanted to, rather than limiting us to do only what the system supported,” Peter Karroll, marketing guru with Olympian’s marketing arm IAM Corp, said.
Bwin.party‘s World Poker Tour (WPT) television show has agreed a three year broadcast deal with Fox Sports Networks. The agreement covers close to 100 hours of televised poker, and WPT president Adam Pliska said: “With the greater support and distribution that our new deal provides, World Poker Tour is now guaranteed to make up a major share of the best-in-class, US television poker real estate for years to come.”
Analytics and convergence business Traffic Generation is set to provide its multi-channel monetization platform, ‘The Hub’, to Aristocrat. “We are excited that Aristocrat has selected the Hub to enable the convergence between its land-based, online and social gaming businesses,” Traffic Generation CEO Andy Caras-Altas said.
Novigroup’s Novibet brand is to go live on the Quickfire network following a deal with the Microgaming-powered provider. The agreement covers online casino games and Novigroup’s first live casino offering.
Novomatic Group company Greentube has agreed a deal to supply six slots to Rank Group‘s online and land-based divisions. “Rank is one of the foremost companies in the industry and a much valued business partner. The fact that they are happy with our games is a sign that we are reaching our goals,” Greentube head of sales and marketing Tomislav Auticher said.
Sheriff Gaming has launched two new 3D slot titles, Alawin and Extreme. “Our two new slots…encapsulate everything we work hard to achieve; engaging content that assists our customers to acquire and retain new customers,” spokesman Eric Roskamp said.
Lucky247 has launched its affiliate programme, ‘To Play Affiliates’, offering a 50% revenue share deal for the first three months after launch.
