LeoVegas goes live on Google Play Store in Sweden, Denmark and Spain
Operator launches Android app in the three regulated markets “ahead of competitors” and streamlines previously awkward customer onboarding process

LeoVegas has launched a Play Store app in three of the 15 countries announced as part of Google’s gambling app ban repeal in January.
A compliant app has hit the Play Store in Sweden, Denmark and Spain. LeoVegas has claimed it is the first online gambling operator to pass the approval process in these markets.
Swedish, Danish and Spanish customers will now be able to access the LeoVegas mobile app directly from the Play Store across Android devices.
LeoVegas noted this would unlock access to a vast amount of the population in each nation, with Android holding significant mobile market share in each.
Android devices make up around 45% of the market in Sweden, dropping to 38% in Denmark.
Around 90% of the mobile market in Spain is dominated by Android.
Sweden, Denmark and Spain were among 15 countries that Google liberated for Play Store gambling apps from 1 March 2021, as well as the US, Canada and Australia.
Mattias Wedar, LeoVegas chief product and technology officer, said: “Once again, we have positioned ourselves as leaders in our industry and make it easier for our customers to get a superior mobile product and this will enhance the customer experience.
“It was a tight deadline as Google only announced this possibility officially in late January, but with a great effort of all teams involved we were able to make it happen not only on time, but ahead of competitors.”
