LeoVegas crowned Operator of the Year at eGR Nordics Awards

LeoVegas was crowned Operator of the Year at last night’s inaugural eGR Nordics Awards, on an evening which also saw the likes of Unibet, Casumo and Betsson recognised for their success in the Nordic market.

The glittering ceremony, which was staged at the Corinthia Hotel in St Georges Bay, Malta, attracted more than 120 industry professionals to celebrate the achievements of the most successful and innovative egaming companies operating in the Nordic region.

And mobile casino operator LeoVegas stole the show as it picked up a hat-trick of gongs including the headline Nordics Operator of the Year prize as well as Casino Operator and Mobile Operator of the Year.

Speaking to eGaming Review this morning, LeoVegas CEO Johan Styren (pictured, second from left) said the awards were a good way to gauge how its business matches-up to the competition.

“The eGR Awards are a great benchmarking exercise for gaming operators to measure our successes when compared to the rest of the market,” Styren said.

“We are extremely pleased to have won the Casino Operator award and the Mobile Operator award as these are the two main categories that really defines LeoVegas. Being declared as the Nordics Operator of the Year is really astounding.

“Having our efforts acknowledged in this way is a great mark of approval for the whole team at LeoVegas. It shows that what we’ve been doing within the region over the past 12 months is really ahead of the game,” he added.

Unibet also enjoyed a successful evening as it scooped the Sports Betting and Socially Responsible Operator of the Year awards, while Casumo also took home two trophies after it topped the In-house Innovation and Marketing Campaign categories.

Elsewhere, Betsson.com won Customer Services Operator while on the supplier side Playtech and NetEnt landed the Casino Platform Supplier and Casino Content Supplier awards respectively.

Sports Betting Supplier went to SBTech and Affiliate of the Year to bettingexpert.
