Lottoland moves into South Africa with new licences
Gibraltar-based operator to offer betting on global jackpots to South African players via its lottoland.co.za URL

Lottoland has been granted a licence in South Africa to offer lottery betting services to local players.
The Gibraltar-based operator’s South African website lottoland.co.za is already live with more than thirty lotteries from around the world available to users, including the US Mega Millions and the US Powerball.
The firm was also granted a B2B licence for local bookies to integrate Lottoland Solutions’ jackpot software into their own offering, insured by Lottoland.
Lottoland CEO Nigel Birrell said: “Lottoland now hold twelve regulated licences around the world – a great achievement for us and testament to us as a global brand and company.
“We strongly believe that Lottoland is uniquely placed in the South African market to be able to offer our portfolio of fixed odds lottery products and insurance related services giving South Africans the opportunity to win some of the largest jackpots in the world,” Birrell added.
The firm was recently awarded two licences to operate and provide its platform to operators in Malta.
The move was confirmed as part of Lottoland’s ongoing Brexit contingency planning as it, and others, look to Malta to secure European operations.
Lottoland placed 19th in last year’s EGR Power 50 rankings.
