Gibraltar-based operator expands reach beyond UK and Australia after securing its Irish remote gambling licence

Lottoland has expanded its geographical reach into the Irish online gambling market after receiving a remote licence from the country’s regulatory authorities.
The bet-on-lotteries operator recently unveiled its lottoland.ie website in Ireland under its Remote Gambling Licence which was granted by the Republic of Ireland National Excise License Office.
Chief executive Nigel Birrell said he was confident Lottoland could replicate its current success in the UK and Australia markets with its Ireland-facing product.
“The Republic of Ireland is a vibrant, growing market with huge potential and we’re very confident there’s a strong appetite for our innovative lottery betting offering,” Birrell said.
“Ireland becomes the third new licensed territory we’ve launched in over the course of the last 12 months and I’m sure it will play its part in continuing the excellent momentum we have already generated.”
Lottoland, which offers 28 products including EuroMillions, Spain’s El Gordo de Verano and America’s PowerBall and MegaMillions lottery draws, claims it had more than three million registered players in 2015.
The expansion into the Irish market comes after the Gibraltar-based operator secured a five-year licence earlier this year from Australia’s Northern Territory’s Racing Commission.
