Apollo-backed market leader makes it two months at the top as bet365 recovers revenue during Euro 2020

Lottomatica has consolidated its position at the top of the Italian online betting rankings after raking in gross gaming revenue (GGR) of €18.5m in June.
The operator has now made it two consecutive months at the top following its €950m acquisition by private equity giant Apollo Global Management in combination with Gamenet Group.
Bet365, which shot up the list from sixth to second, was its closest challenger for June with monthly GGR of €15.1m.
Snaitech (€14.9m), Sisal (€14m) and Eurobet (€11.6m) rounded off the top five, while SKS365 (€9.8m) finished sixth, some distance ahead of E-play 24 (€3.3m) in seventh.
Lottomatica ended the month with a market share of 16.3% based on GGR.
Bet365 still conquered the online turnover rankings for June, raking in €173.5m on a margin of 8.7%, to beat closest rival Lottomatica (€117m) on a margin of 15.8%.
Bet365 obtained 21.7% market share as a percentage of online turnover last month.
It will be interesting to see how the country’s online betting operators performed during the month of July following Italy’s victory over England at Wembley to become Euro 2020 champions.
