Lottomatica nets hat-trick after three months at top of Italian online betting rankings
Apollo-backed giant reports GGR of €10.7m in July before rankings formula is shaken up next month

Lottomatica has made it three months in a row at the top of the Italian online betting rankings after raking in gross gaming revenue (GGR) of €10.7m in July.
The operator is now established as the dominant player in the market following its €950m acquisition by private equity giant Apollo Global Management in combination with Gamenet Group.
Playtech-owned Snaitech climbed one position to second for July after reporting GGR of €9m.
Sisal (€8.1m), bet365 (€7.6m) and SKS365 (€7.1m) rounded off the top five, while Eurobet (€5.9m) finished sixth, some distance ahead E-play 24 (€1.7m) in seventh.
Revenue for companies including bet365 was reduced by almost 50% month-on-month.
Lottomatica ended the month with a market share of 16.9% based on GGR.
Bet365 still conquered the online turnover rankings for July, raking in €167.1m on a margin of 4.6%.
Bet365 also obtained 23.7% market share as a percentage of online turnover last month.
From next month, the Italian online betting rankings will be calculated via parent company to better reflect an operator’s overall revenue and market share.
For example, Eurobet, bwin and Gioco Digitale will be added together under the umbrella of Entain.
