Malta Gaming Authority “enhances” licensing process with online application portal
New system will enable operators to track licence applications and submit tax reports online

The Malta Gaming Authority has set up a web portal for egaming licensees to monitor and track licence applications and other licensing requirements.
The portal will enable operators to apply for egaming licences online, request Dynamic Seal URL requests to ensure their servers and hardware meets legislation and submit player liability and tax reports.
An MGA statement said the ‘New Licensee Relationship Management System’ would help licencees “meet regulatory requirements more efficiently” and “enhance a two-way communication between the authority and its customers”.
MGA executive chairman Joseph Cuschieri said: “Our main objective remains exceeding the expectations of all our stakeholders at large. This portal goes a long way in achieving that.”
“This project forms part of the government’s vision for the improvement of our gaming jurisdiction,” parliamentary secretary Silvio Schembri added.
The portal will be extended to retail operations including local casinos, bingo halls and the national lottery.
The MGA also recently revealed plans to regulate blockchain technology by 2018 and overhaul its regulatory framework.
