Matchbook launches new iPhone app
New mobile product follows hot on the heels of the exchange operator's recent desktop launch

Exchange operator Matchbook has continued its recent reinvention with the launch of an iPhone app to capitalise on the industry-wide growth in the mobile channel.
Coming on the back of the launch of its new desktop site earlier this month, the app will offer customers the same functionality as the full site, including the ability to sync markets across devices using Matchbook’s Shortlist feature.
The operator is currently focused on improving liquidity in its in-running football markets and sees its new mobile app, which was developed in a matter of weeks, as playing an important role in achieving that goal.
“Due to the recently completed upgrade in our core technology, we were able to develop the iPhone app with a four week turnaround,” Mark Brosnan, Matchbook’s recently installed CEO, said.
“We are very conscious of the shift towards mobile in the online betting market and we are delighted with the release of our iPhone app to complement our fully responsive web platform,” he added.
An Android version of the app is currently scheduled for release in early 2014 while the company also hinted at other developments in the pipeline.
Matchbook also plans to improve football liquidity by offering 0% commission on all football markets from December through to April. The operator currently charges 1% on every bet placed, win or lose
