Matchbook prepares to launch in-house casino
Exchange operator also says it will be rolling out 0% commission offer to other sports after football promotion "exceeded expectations"

Matchbook is to launch a proprietary casino in the coming weeks, which will be the exchange operator’s first gaming product.
Speaking to eGaming Review, Matchbook chief exec Mark Brosnan said he was “excited” by the product which will enable customers to manage their sports markets and play casino simultaneously.
The split screen technology has been developed in-house by the operator’s development team while customers will also benefit from a single-wallet.
The initial release, which is planned for mid-April, will feature table games and will be available on desktop only, however further games and a mobile version are in the pipeline.
News of the release comes as Matchbook’s four-month long 0% football commission promotion ended yesterday, although the operator plans to roll the offer out to other sports starting with this summer’s Wimbledon tennis championships.
“The 0% model has worked successfully and we believe customers really appreciate betting exchange offers, and we can say that with a high degree of confidence after going a commission free offer on soccer,” Brosnan said.
Matchbook projected the football promotion would see a 250% increase in its active customer base, however, according to Brosnan the offer “exceeded expectations” with the target met after the first month.
The operator has also been boosted by its inclusion on odds comparison site Oddschecker from February, and Brosnan believes the operator’s football prices will still compare favourably now the offer has ended.
“We’ve been talking for a while about how good our pricing is and it’s great that people can now see that and be able to compare our prices against others at Oddschecker,” he said.
And to mark the end of the commission free period, Brosnan said Matchbook will donate all commission raised via its football markets today to sports-focused charity Right to Play, with which it has formed a long-term association.
“The 0% offer has been so good to us so we wanted to give something back and Right to Play is a very worthwhile cause,” he added.
