MeccaBingo launches first real-money iPhone bingo app
Virtue Fusion-powered app available in iTunes app store is industry first, claims owner Rank Interactive.
Meccabingo.com has launched what it claims is the first real-money bingo app for the iPhone, while an Android version is also set to be released in 2011.
The Virtue Fusion-powered app is available for free download direct from the iTunes app store, and allows mobile players to compete for the same cash prizes as their online counterparts on the Rank Interactive-owned brand.
Customers are able to log in using the same details they use for the website, while new customers can register directly through the app.
Claire Osborne, head of bingo and games at Rank Interactive, explained how the community element of online bingo played a significant role in the development of the new mobile platform.
She said: “We wanted to focus on was the community side of bingo, with customers currently being able to chat to each other online in our bingo rooms.
“Building this new app has given us a fantastic opportunity to take this concept one step further with an integrated chat function, allowing players to continue to chat whilst playing bingo wherever they are.”
The app will also include features found on the online version, such as the Mecca Bingo club finder and the option to pre-purchase tickets.
