MediaCorp in online JV with Hippodrome
Purple Lounge owner set to provide online casino and poker offering for soon-to-be-relaunched London casino.

Media Corporation has announced that is has signed an exclusive joint venture which will see it provide online casino and poker products to the Hippodrome Casino.
The London-based casino – whose live venue is set to re-open on 1 April – launched its Boss Media-powered online poker and casino offering last year, with its website operated by Gaming Media Group’s white-label business InTouch Gaming, however the new JV will override the InTouch contract, originally signed in 2010.
The revenue share-based JV will see MediaCorp begin by offering Hippodrome-branded poker and casino, with sports betting and bingo to follow later this year, while account-holders will be able to withdraw and deposit both from their online account and from the London venue itself.
Earlier this month MediaCorp moved its Purple Lounge poker room to the Entraction network from Microgaming.
MediaCorp CEO Justin Drummond (pictured) said: “This is a major deal for Media Corp, which will see the scale of Media Corp’s online gaming business grow enormously. While we already have a sizeable business in online poker, growth of our online casino business has been a particular focus for the Group”
Meanwhile Gambling.com, the site which KAX Media bought from MediaCorp for £1.5m last year, has gone live once again following a low-key soft-launch at the end of 2011. The relaunched site takes the form of a portal featuring slideshows, videos and other content, and is currently targeted exclusively at the United Kingdom but will be expanded to focus on all English-speaking regulated markets as and when they open.
