MediaLiveCasino in land-based deal
Provider to bring Italy's largest land-based casino, Casino San Remo, online.
Casino San Remo, Italy’s largest land-based casino, is set to move into the egaming realm after agreeing a deal with live dealer provider MediaLiveCasino.
The agreement will see table games at the casino streamed online by MediaLiveCasino, with online players able to take part in the same games as those at the venue.
MediaLiveCasino, which received a green light to go live in the Italian market in January, has fought off competition from Evolution Gaming and Tumas-Portomaso to win the contract, with Casino San Remo the first of the country’s land-based casinos to launch online live dealer games.
The launch follows Evolution’s deal to provide bwin with an Italian-facing live dealer casino suite last month. Evolution also provides Gioco Digitale with live dealer blackjack.
MediaLiveCasino sales and marketing manager Angelo de Gobbi said: “Up to now no real Italian casino has been so farsighted: online games were considered as competitors. Casinò di Sanremo has been the first to seize the huge potentiality of broadcasting the games directly from its prestigious rooms.”
Casino San Remo is also one of several venues to host stops on PokerStars’ European Poker Tour, with its season nine event due to begin on 3 October this year.
