Mobile casino operator plots international expansion after hugely successful 2014 in core UK market
Mobile casino operator mFortune is planning its first launch outside of the UK market next year, eGR can reveal.
The firm, which operates mobile casino, bingo and poker in the UK, is hoping to make its debut in the Nordic markets during H1 2015 prior to a wider international expansion.
“Look at the global map. The UK’s a dot. We need to cover the rest of the world,” Simon Wilson, mFortune CEO, said in an exclusive interview with eGR.
Italy is believed to be one of the main regulated markets on the list of mFortune’s targets, but it’s the hugely competitive Scandinavian region that mFortune will try and crack first.
“The Nordics will be a region we will make tentative moves into during H1 2015,” Simon Llanos, mFortune head of marketing and business development, said.
“Mobile is incredibly well supported in the Nordics from an infrastructure point of view so taking our mobile technology there will be a really good opportunity.”
The Birmingham-based firm currently generates 99% of its revenue from the UK, and this will be its first launch outside of its local market.
Wilson also dismissed speculation surrounding the firm being a post-PoC acquisition target stating that mFortune was “not for sale”.
Both Wilson and Llanos were speaking exclusively to eGR for a profile of mFortune that appears in the next issue of eGaming Review, due out next week.
