Microgaming completes poker network rebrand
MPN has welcomed five new skins in recent months and introduced new rake method.

Microgaming has officially rebranded its poker network as ‘The MPN’ and supported the move with the launch of a new website.
Formerly known as the Microgaming Poker Network, The MPN makes the move following the integration of five new skins from three operators previously on the soon-to-close IGT Network.
BetVictor migrated its full poker offering to the MPN following a partial move earlier in the year, while Betsson followed suit, setting up a Microgaming skin for its main brand as well as the NordicBet and Betsafe brands which it acquired this year.
Meanwhile iGame Malta, one of the founding skins of the IGT network when it was still known as Entraction, has migrated its iGame, Pokerihuone and 24hPoker brands to the MPN, and the network expects to announce new additions “over the coming weeks”.
The rebranding comes just after the one-year anniversary of the software provider’s Network Management Board, an independent body chaired by former Gala Coral CEO Dominic Harrison and including consultants and representatives of the larger MPN skins such as Ladbrokes, Unibet and NordicBet.
In the intervening period Microgaming has introduced ‘True Value’, a new rake allocation method which head of network games Lydia Melton (pictured) has described as being unique for “Using a dual layer system, which does not impact the players themselves.”
The system attributes more value to new and reactivated players in a move designed to encourage operators on the network to grow their recreational player pools, however it does not have a noticeable impact on the players themselves meaning winning players do not feel rejected.
Melton described the MPN rebrand and website launch as “significant milestones,” saying: We are approaching our 10th year in operation, and we are stronger than ever before. However, we will not be resting on our laurels.
“What we have done with all these changes is build the framework for a scalable and sustainable network. Now that the framework is in place, we are more flexible, resilient and adaptable to any changes that this turbulent industry can throw our way,” she added.
