Middlesbrough FC signs up to Responsible Gambling Week 2019
EFL club to showcase information on RG at Riverside Stadium and online

EFL Championship side Middlesbrough FC has pledged its support to the forthcoming Responsible Gambling Week, aiming to “trigger a national conversation” about responsible gambling.
As part of this support, the club will publish safer gambling information on its website, including details of five key responsible gambling behaviours, using the hashtag #RGWeek19.
The campaign has also attracted the support of the English Football League and Sky Bet, which will dedicate advertising space in matchday programmes, on big screens and across social media.
Earlier this year, Middlesbrough’s primary shirt sponsor 32Red, which is part of Kindred Group, agreed to showcase responsible gambling messaging in any match contested by two teams that it sponsors.
In the case of Middlesbrough, the slogan used is “Set Deposit Limits”, with other slogans used by other 32Red sponsored clubs.
John Hagan, chairman of the Industry Group for Responsible Gambling, which organises events for Responsible Gambling Week, said this year’s campaign aims to take safer gambling messaging “even further” with the groups biggest campaign to date.
As part of the increased efforts to promote the event, a revamped website has been launched which aims to act as a “comprehensive one-stop service for consumers” to educate them about responsible gambling.
“The continued engagement and support of football clubs is enormously helpful in highlighting the week and triggering a national conversation about what it means to gamble responsibly throughout the year,” Hagan added.
The EGR UK Summit, in partnership with Responsible Gambling Week, takes place this Thursday (7 November 2019) at Twickenham Stadium.
