Morocco’s state lottery opens tender for a new operator
Bidding proposals to be submitted before 4 April 2022 to Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports

Morocco’s state lottery has put out a tender in order to find a new operator to run its lottery, sports betting and pari-mutuel offering.
The tender is available from 1 January 2023 onwards and will operate for eight years according to a statement released by Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports (MDJS).
There is an option to extend the contract by two additional years, while bids must be submitted before 4 April 2022 at MDJS headquarters in the Moroccan city of Casablanca.
The proposal process is divided into two ‘lots’. The first lot covers fixed-odds sports betting and pari-mutuel betting, except for betting on horse and greyhound racing. The second lot applies to lotteries, instant sports lotteries (including electronic instant games) and raffles.
Bidders can submit a proposal for one or both lots, which means that multiple bidders could be successful.
The bidding document can be collected from the MDJS headquarters or procured online following payment of MAD10,000 (£798). A bid security payment of MAD3m (£240,000) is also required regardless of the number of proposals submitted for lots.
Established in 1962, MDJS supervises the activity of sports betting and lotteries.
