Nektan appoints former Xbox VP as new CEO
David Gosen hired to lead B2B mobile gaming firm's product development and European expansion

Mobile gaming supplier Nektan has strengthened its management team with the appointment of digital and gaming specialist David Gosen (pictured) as its chief executive officer.
Gosen joins Nektan from market research firm Nielsen, where he was European managing director of media, digital and mobile. He previously held vice-president and MD roles at Xbox Europe and Nintendo Europe respectively.
Gosen, who was also CEO and president at video game developer I-play, has been handed responsibility for Nektan’s day-to-day operations with an emphasis on product development and building European business opportunities.
Following Gosen’s appointment, Nektan executive chairman Gary Shaw will focus on new market expansion and the development of strategic partnerships.
“I am delighted that David has decided to join Nektan as we now start to develop our products to capitalise on much larger opportunities,” Shaw said.
“David’s background and abilities will be a key building block towards future success in our key markets in Europe and North America,” he added.
Nektan, which recently raised around £4m after floating on London’s Alternative Investment Market, has set out an ambitious growth strategy having targeted the real-money and freemium markets on both sides of the Atlantic.
In November the supplier signed its first US deal after entering into a JV with online and land-based slots developer Spin Games while it has also held talks with a number of US tribes.
Last week Nektan launched a new mobile casino for London business newspaper City A.M. and also has deals in place with the likes of Mr Green, Leo Vegas and William Hill.
Nektan’s share price was up almost 5p to 196.75p after early morning trading.
