Nektan to open US headquarters
Co-founder of mobile games developer Richard Sagman will head up Las Vegas office
Mobile games developer Nektan will open headquarters in Las Vegas later this month as it continues to expand its US business.
Co-founder of the Gibraltar-based firm, Richard Sagman, will relocate to the Silver State to take up the role of vice-president of Nektan US.
“I’m really excited by the prospect of taking Nektan into the USA, to further develop our business relationships and leverage our mobile expertise and product in a market that’s expanding quickly,” said Sagman.
“We already have fantastic customers in the US such as Aristocrat and SciGames and we’re perfectly placed for further aggressive expansion,” he added.
Sagman has been in the online gaming sector since 2000, having previously worked at BettingCorp, affiliate network St Minver Limited, and GTECH.
“There is no one better qualified to help Nektan unlock the vast mobile opportunities in the USA than Richard who brings over 12 years of real money gaming knowledge to a market that is opening up fast.” said Gary Shaw, co-founder and chairman of Nektan.
The expansion follows last year’s acquisition of mobile gaming firm MFuse for an undisclosed sum shortly after completing a £5m ($8.2m) funding round. This was followed by the appointment of ex-Probability COO Matt Sunderland who joined Nektan as chief operating office last June.
