NetBet switches Italy sportsbook to SBTech platform
Sports betting provider obtains key Italian certification as it looks to continue global expansion
NetBet has relaunched its Italy-facing sportsbook on SBTech’s platform after the supplier received compliance certification from the Italian regulator.
The NetBet.it sportsbook was previously live on Betradar but NetBet opted to switch to SBTech, which already powers the operator in several markets including the UK, Romania, Malta and Greece.
“This achievement opens up a new chapter in our ongoing relationship with SBTech,” said Alain Boccara, the CEO of NetBet Italy. “The company’s skill and professionalism in meeting literally any challenge is the reason we are proud to be powered by their platform.”
The NetBet sportsbook is SBTech’s first in Italy, following the a rigorous compliance process by the country’s Agency for Customs and Monopolies (ADM).
“Passing this notoriously difficult test is a vital step towards our goal of offering our award-winning sportsbook in regulated online gaming markets globally,” said SBTech chief executive Richard Carter.
“Our strategic relationship with NetBet continues to go from strength to strength, and will be further reinforced by this entry into the Italian market.”
SBTech has already secured B2B licences in Portugal and Romania this year and said the new Italian certification represented “a significant milestone as the company continues to extend its global reach”.
