NetEnt replaces CTO ahead of Evolution Gaming takeover
Stockholm-listed supplier promotes MD of NetEnt India to top technology job as Tobias Palmborg departs

NetEnt has wasted no time in appointing a new chief technology officer (CTO) after previous incumbent Tobias Palmborg left the supplier last week.
Palmborg departed NetEnt on 4 September after a two-and-a-half-year stint following discussions with CEO Therese Hillman about the imminent merger with live casino giant Evolution Gaming.
Evolution tabled a £1.6bn takeover offer for NetEnt in June. The NetEnt board of directors unanimously recommended shareholders to accept the offer.
Hillman said: “Given our situation with the bid from Evo I have had several talks with Tobias, and in those talks it has been clear that Tobias sees his future outside of NetEnt.
“I want to thank Tobias for all his hard work and the role he played in our journey of change.”
Palmborg has been replaced as CTO by NetEnt veteran Aditya Bhushan with immediate effect.
The Delhi University alumnus has worked for the supplier for more than a decade, most recently as director of game platform and MD of NetEnt India while based in Hyderabad.
“I’m glad that Aditya has accepted the CTO role, now it is about focusing ahead and working hard to deliver the projects needed in order for us to hit our numbers,” Hillman wrote.
In July, NetEnt reported a 36% year-on-year increase in Q2 revenue to £50.2m.
