Netherlands secondary legislation expected next month
Further details surrounding new gaming framework to receive preview at Amsterdam conference in June

Clarification regarding a number of important issues contained within the Netherlands remote gaming bill could be given in June, with the government’s policy officer leading the work due to deliver a prologue of forthcoming legislation at a gaming conference earlier that month.
The sixth edition of the annual Gaming in Holland Conference & Expo, which takes place in Amsterdam on June 13-14, will feature the head of the task force overseeing the modernisation of gambling policy at the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice, Dennis van Breemen.
And ahead of the publication of secondary legislation, van Breemen has agreed to brief conference attendees on the regulatory proposals, prior to the industry consultation scheduled to start in the weeks after the conference.
Supported by a number of policy officers, van Breemen will address topics such as responsible gaming, technical standards, sports integrity, customer ID and age verification standards, advertising guidelines, payments, and the potential regulation of newer verticals such as esports and DFS.
The Dutch gaming bill passed the Lower House last June and is widely expected to be adopted by the Senate later this year.
Other confirmed speakers at the two-day conference include Holland Casino CEO Erwin van Lambaart, Gaming Innovation Group CEO Robin Reed, and Netherlands Gaming Authority CEO Marja Appleman.
