New player protection tool BetProtect launches
Father and son with lived experience of gambling-related harm partner with Crucial Compliance to debut RG tool

A father and son duo have launched a player protection integration tool to support operator efforts against gambling-related harm.
David Bradford and his son Adam have released mobile web app BetProtect, powered by safer gambling consultancy Crucial Compliance, which provides a business intelligence system to enable operators to map and measure consumer behaviours and tailor appropriate responses.
BetProtect allows for the collection of anonymous data which ensures the optimisation of the product for consumer benefits, while also allowing users to track their BetProtect activity.
The main message from BetProtect is for players to take a break, consider their behaviours and engage with non-gambling platforms.
The product acts as a live integration tool for web and mobile devices and provides localised content for international territories including the UK, US and Europe.
Adam Bradford said: “BetProtect is an opportunity for the industry to put its best foot forward in providing additional safety messaging and a safe space for people to take time out at any point in the customer journey in an accessible way.
“We know there is no one silver bullet to completely minimising gambling-related harms but in the suite of tools and offerings the industry presents to its users, we see this software as an effective part of that portfolio,” he added.
The concept for BetProtect was partially based on the Bradford’s lived experience, with David having been jailed for fraud after hiding debt from his family accrued from his gambling addiction.
David Bradford said: “No other support tool existed back at the height of my gambling and solace was always to play more and more.
“BetProtect is available now to encourage a pause for thought in the journey and furthermore an invitation to explore the products within such that it would be my best friend without judgement.
“Nothing was available in my darkest moments until now,” he added.
