New head of trading for Betfair
Craig Mucklow arrives from Ladbrokes and will be based in Dublin.
Former Ladbrokes head of sports trading product Craig Mucklow has joined Betfair as the operator’s new director of trading.
38-year-old Mucklow, who headed up a team of 60 with Ladbrokes, will lead a trading team in Dublin in preparation for Betfair’s launch of a fixed-odds sportsbook alongside its core exchange offering.
Before joining Ladbrokes in 2007, initially joining as head of US/Nordic sports, Mucklow was head of US sports at Paddy Power. He had earlier held trading roles with Stan James and BetOnSports.
Mucklow said of his new role: “The introduction of the new sports product has the potential to not only revolutionise Betfair’s business but also the whole industry.”
Betfair group operations director Ian Chuter said: “We have been offering risk products for a number of years, but the arrival of the new sports betting product will be a game changer for Betfair.”
