New Jersey egaming revenues contract again
Total online casino and poker revenues down 9.5% month-on-month in June to US$9.5m
Online gaming revenues in New Jersey fell for a third consecutive month in June, according to figures released by the state’s Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
Total revenues were down 9.5% month-on-month to US$9.5m, with $2m coming from online poker and $7.5m from online casino.
The Borgata continued to lead the way with its platform partner bwin.party, generating gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $3.4m for the period, down 15% on May with $1m coming from poker and $2.4m from casino.
Caesars Interactive, under whose licence CaesarsCasino.com, HarrahsCasino.com, WSOP.com and 888.com operates, remained in second place in terms of market share despite total revenues falling $200,000. Its WSOP.com site generated GGR of $940,000 while its online casino sites attracted $1.7m during the period.
Tropicana remained in third place as it generated GGR of $1.7m during June, while Golden Nugget continues to make progress with GGR up 16% to $710,635, despite having yet to launch a poker offering in the Garden State.
Betfair, operating under Trump Plaza’s licence, attracted $503,434 for the period, while Ultimate Gaming, which has partnered with the Trump Taj Mahal, generated $30,420 through its poker platform and $465,640 from online casino.
From launch to the end of June a total of 378,564 egaming accounts have been created in New Jersey, up 7.8% from the 351,136 accounts created as of May.
Earlier this month the DGE announced it had relaxed its limit on the number of platforms a licensed operator can run in the state from one to five. The move has had mixed reactions among licensees, with some raising concerns over market saturation.
