New Poll: Where does William Hill's biggest opportunity lie?
Will regulated Europe, Australia or UK mobile gaming provide the biggest uplift in the next 12 months?
William Hill’s latest set of results showed the operator pushing ahead in several new regions with Italy, Spain and Australia all highlighted as areas of expansion.
But the main revenue driver continued to be the UK sports betting business, and in particular the growth of its mobile product with 40% of sportsbook turnover coming from mobile.
So in this week’s poll we ask: Where does the biggest opportunity lie for the online giant in the next 12 months?
With mobile sports betting now firmly established as a channel within the business, Hills plans to ramp up its mobile gaming revenues and says it wants mobile to be 40% of gaming revenue by mid-2015.
It is investing heavily in the mobile channels both in product and marketing with mobile CRM a real area of focus, and it’s possible this could be where it sees the biggest revenue growth in the year to come.
Another area of the business that will be keenly watched by the industry and analysts will be its Australian arm following the acquisition of Sportingbet.
William Hill Australia is a key area of focus, but the hugely competitive market will not be an easy one with the likes of Paddy Power and powerful local operators also very active Down Under.
Closer to home Hills is also looking for further growth from its regulated Italian and Spanish businesses with 160% net revenue growth in Italy and 22% net revenue growth in Spain reported in its H1 results.
Both regions are facing their own internal issues at the moment, but Hills is well placed to capitalise on what remain fairly new markets within online gambling.
So with so many opportunities out there, where do you think Hills will find the most good news stories in the following 12 months? Cast your vote on the right hand side.
