News UK to launch Sun Racing affiliate brand
News Corp says Sun Racing will be the consumer brand for the launch of punters.com in the UK

News UK is planning to launch a new UK-facing affiliate site called Sun Racing, EGR Intel has learned.
The new site will utilise The Sun brand and aims to become the UK version of Punters.com.au, the Australian affiliate site purchased by News Corp in 2016.
News UK is currently hiring for a Head of Sun Racing, to be based in London, who will report in to Punters CEO Ben Bloomfield.
According to an job description seen by EGR: “The vision of Punters and The Sun is to make Sun Racing the leading horseracing affiliate site in the UK.”
The ad continues: “Punters is awaiting the right person to strategically implement an expansion plan in partnership with the Sun digital universe, leading a team of product experts and social media-savvy journalists to create and drive the best horseracing website and app in the UK market”.
The new head of Sun Racing will be given a set budget to appoint their own team in order to “deliver business objectives” and challenge competitors like the Racing Post from its London Bridge offices.
EGR understands that Sun Racing will target The Sun’s 11 million monthly online readers.
The affiliate site appears to have no direct links with Sun Bets, which is powered by Tabcorp.
