New Greek egaming laws would require providers to set up a server in the country and to open a Greece-based domain name.

The Greek government has unveiled draft legislation to regulate the country’s egaming market. The new law would require providers of sports betting, internet poker or online casinos in Greece to set up a server in the country and to open a Greece-based domain name. The new regulation would require Greek ISPs to block access to foreign-based gambling websites and financial institutions to not process any suspected transactions to these sites. Meanwhile, Greek lottery company Intralot reported revenues of 540.9m for the first half of 2010, 11% higher compared to the same period last year, benefiting from an improved trading performance during the second quarter.
UK consumer search for sports betting-related terms grew from 18% in March to 23% in June totalling 550,779, while poker, casino and bingo fell, according to independent search and social marketing agency Greenlight’s latest gaming sector research. Overall, UK consumer search for gaming-related terms was down to 2.3 million in June compared to 3 million, 2.7 million and 2.6 in March, April and May, respectively.
Netplay TV has launched its SuperCasino brand as an application on Apple’s App Store, making it the first real-money casino application for the iPhone, the company has said.
