The Dutch government has announced that it intends to issue online gaming licences as the country looks to regulate egaming.

The Dutch government has confirmed it intends to issue online gaming licences in an attempt to regulate an industry which could bring in 10m a year in the auctioning of licences alone, according to Reuters. eGaming Review reported last October that the country was looking to follow the Italian and French models of regulation, overturning legislation which made all online gambling (with the exception of the state lottery) illegal.
Former Everest Poker owner GigaMedia has appointed Yichin Lee as its new CEO after the retirement of Arthur Wang. Lee joined the Taiwanese software and service provider as an independent director in 2003, and will take up his new role immediately.
