The Dutch foundation for online gambling believes the auction of a limited number of licences could be detrimental to regulation.

The Dutch foundation for online gambling has spoken out about the country’s proposed auction of a limited number of licenses. Stichting Online Gaming Nederland (STIOG) believes proper regulation cannot be guaranteed as long as the number of licences is limited, according to reports in Dutch financial newspaper Financieele Dagblad.
Canadian gambling site PlayNow.com did not take adequate steps to protect players’ privacy, an investigation from the British Columbia Information and Privacy Commissioner has found. A security glitch forced the shutdown of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation’s site soon after its launch last year, and although the site was eventually restored, an investigation was ordered. The findings contradict the initial explanation given by BCLC, that claimed the site had been taken down after response times were hit by high player volumes.
Sportech has appointed Panmure Gordon as its joint broker. The UK-based stock-broker will take up the role with immediate effect, but Investec will remain Sportech’s financial adviser and joint broker.
Leroy’s app, the smartphone app from American Wagering which was launched on Apple devices in December, has been given the all-clear to move to the Android platform. The Nevada Gaming Control Board today gave the all-clear for a field trial of the app, to begin immediately.
