PokerStars.net is to sponsor the new Brasil Poker Tour (BPT), with the inaugural event taking place from 21-25 July at the Hotel Transamerica in Sao Paolo. The centrepiece will be a R$2,300 (approx £900) buy-in main event. David Carrion, president of BPT owner Global Poker Tour’s existing Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT), said: “Brasil is the natural choice to become the first country in the region with an exclusive poker circuit. We expect players from neighbouring countries and all over the world to participate.”
