Norsk Tipping launches new responsible gambling functionality
Players will receive an overview of their gambling as part of new enhancements

Norwegian monopoly operator Norsk Tipping has introduced new online functionality that shows players a detailed overview of their gambling when they login.
As part of the new interface, Norsk Tipping’s online portal will initially provide a summary of player gambling over the last week, with links to a more detailed overview. Players can change their display frequency to a monthly or yearly basis.
Account overviews were previously available to customers on the Norsk Tipping website, however players needed to independently look for the data online. Norsk Tipping confirmed that an expanded and improved version of this functionality will be unveiled over the next few months.
Norsk Tipping’s CEO Åsne Havnelid said the operator’s responsible gambling work was a “continuous process” which required a lot of resources aimed at keeping a “high pace” of development.
“Transparency is an important principle for Norsk Tipping’s relationship with its customers. This latest measure will be important for many players and have a good preventive effect on problem gambling,” Havnelid added.
In addition to being included with its main group of players, all customers with yellow or red status in Norsk Tipping’s risk assessment tool Playscan will get the same overview.
Tanja Sveen, responsible gambling advisor for Norsk Tipping said the company had identified a “worrying growth” in the number of players with a red status on its Playscan tool.
“Showing customers the game accounts is therefore particularly important for such high-risk games, where a game round only takes three seconds. One can play almost continuously, and it is often the case that many small gains camouflage a real loss,” Sveen added.
In April, Norsk Tipping introduced caps on the amount of prizes available to players, together with two-step ID verification functionality on its land based gaming terminals.
